State Sen. Chris Jacobs, R-Buffalo, said Tuesday he has secured $300,000 in funding to support the engineering, design and construction management services for a new storage tank in Evans.
Erie County started calling for a new water tower in Evans 20 years ago, and it was borrowing for the water project in 2007 that precipitated the town's financial woes. But now the tower is on track and engineers are looking for the perfect site for it.
“It is critically important that we invest in the infrastructure improvements necessary for our local governments to grow their economies and improve the quality of life in their communities,” said Jacobs. “The increased water capacity from a new storage tank will enable the Town of Evans to attract more business investment, pursue additional residential development and reduce costs.”
