Downtown doughnut lovers, rejoice: Paula's is coming to Larkinville

Paula’s Donuts is coming back to Buffalo.

The iconic Niagara Frontier doughnut-maker will return to the city of its birth when it opens the doors of a Larkinville location.

The building at 822 Seneca St., being designed by Larkin Development Group, is expected to be ready in fall 2020. Paula’s will serve its sour cream glazed, peanut sticks and more on the first floor.

The second floor will be market-rate apartments, part of the developers' plan to bring back the neighborhood's past pattern of ground-floor retail and second-floor residential.

"We have received numerous requests to open a Paula’s Donuts in the city over the years," said Paula Huber, owner of Paula’s Donuts. "We are excited about the Larkinville neighborhood. Its central location will make it convenient for customers from all over the city to stop by."

Paula's started in Buffalo, at Kenmore Avenue and Englewood Drive, before closing its original location and opening stores in the Town of Tonawanda, Clarence and West Seneca.

Larkin Vice President Leslie Zemsky said, "We are thrilled to work with Paula and Chuck Huber, along with the rest of their family, to bring Paula's Donuts to the city of Buffalo. Larkinville has become Buffalo's premier food and beverage neighborhood. The addition of Paula's sweetens up the offerings even more."
