A man in the process of moving out of a Ninth Street apartment he had shared with his late fiancée told Niagara Falls Police on Saturday that some expensive jewelry had been stolen from the residence.
The victim told police that that management of the building had recently contracted to have the locks changed in the apartment. In the meantime, a women's gold-and-diamond wedding ring, valued at $3,000, had gone missing from a jewelry box in the bedroom of the apartment. Also missing was a men's gold bracelet valued at $300.
The victim told police he suspects the maintenance workers of having taken the items.
