A Niagara Falls man who uses his garage and a vacant apartment to store commercial restaurant equipment told city police that someone broke into the properties on back-to-back nights this week to steal property.
The intruder tried to pry open a garage door Wednesday night, according to reports, but in the process ended up tearing off the door handle, causing about $300 in damage. He then entered and stole a commercial hot dog roller and warmer unit valued at $500.
The victim did not report the theft immediately and the next night the burglar returned, prying open the apartment door and removing a commercial pizza warmer valued at $600. The victim told police that he suspects a neighbor of committing the break-ins.
