Two teenagers were arrested for allegedly sexually abusing a minor in July, Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard said Friday.
The victim's parents reported to a deputy that the teens "forcibly took their child’s bicycle and cellphone, then sexually abused the victim in a wooded area of Springville," sheriff's officials said in a statement. The case was turned over to detectives. On Tuesday, detectives arrested Marcus James, 19, of Collins and a 16-year-old boy from Springville.
Sheriff's officials did not release details about the victim.
James was charged with felony counts of attempted aggravated sexual abuse and sexual abuse-contact by forcible compulsion, and a misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of a child.
The 16-year-old was charged with felony counts of aggravated sexual abuse and aggravated sexual abuse.
Both teens were released from the Erie County Holding Center after posting bail.
