Letter: Jamestown is proud of its accomplishments

I’m writing in regard to the letter written by a “gentleman” from Lackawanna. Apparently he doesn’t like “Swedes.” However we’re much more diversified than that.

The opening of the Comedy Center was a huge success. The whole city benefited by this. Hotels shops and restaurants were swarming with people. Jamestown deserves credit for putting its city on the map.

He also mentioned the furniture business. People today don’t care or can’t afford quality furniture, they prefer disposable furniture. Furniture made in Jamestown was handed down from generation to generation. Many people still proudly have this furniture.

I’m sorry this gentleman has this opinion of our city. Perhaps he should visit before he slanders our city.
