GM donates $80,000 to seven area charities

General Motors' Town of Tonawanda engine plant celebrated its 80th anniversary by donating $80,000 to seven area charities, on behalf of GM Community Giving.

GM Tonawanda plant director Ram Ramanujam and UAW Local 774 shop chairman Chuck Herr presented grants to organizations that support STEM, families and the environment.

United Way of Buffalo and Erie County received a $20,000 grant. Six other organizations each received $10,000 grants: Western New York STEMHub, Willie Hutch Jones Educational and Sports Program, Boys and Girls Club of the Northtowns, Buffalo Urban League, Junior Achievement and Every Person Influences Children.
