The Buffalo Bandits added an American star to the roster on Friday, signing forward Dylan Molloy to a one-year contract.
Molloy, a fifth-round pick of the Bandits in last year's draft, comes from an outdoor lacrosse background. He was the 2016 recipient of the Tewaaraton Award, given annually to the top player in college lacrosse, in his junior season with Brown University. The Setauket, N.Y., native scored a program-high 153 goals during his four years with the Bears.
He was selected first overall in the Major League Lacrosse Draft by the Florida Launch at the conclusion of his collegiate career and through two seasons has lived up to the billing. He led Florida in goals (41) and points (59) while playing all 14 games with the team this summer.
