When it comes to reality shows, there often seems to be a Western New York connection.
In case you missed, it the Angel City Chorale advanced to the semifinals of “America’s Got Talent” on Wednesday night.
The 150-member Los Angeles choir has at least five members from Western New York: Bob Fiorella, Rose Matic, Jimmer Bolden, Kathy Jackson and Gordon Glor.
The uplifting, diverse choir, whose members are between the ages of 19 and 88, didn’t make the top five acts in votes on Wednesday's results show after its Tuesday performance, but they advanced to the semifinals in three weeks, thanks to the live TV audience vote Wednesday that saved the choir from elimination.
The choir is one of seven semifinalists from the first of three groups of 12 acts competing.
It is trying to do something that’s never been done before: No choir has ever won “AGT.”
