The Rochester Americans have signed veteran forward Wayne Simpson to a one-year AHL deal, the team announced Thursday.
Simpson, 28, has played 224 games in the league with Hershey, Providence and Portland with 39 goals and 89 assists. He spent last season with Hershey, finishing third on the team in scoring with 42 points (14 goals and 28 assists). He also has five goals and 10 assists in 20 AHL playoff games.
Before turning pro, the 5-11 Simpson played at Union College, with 56 goals and 59 assists in 159 career games.
