TOWN OF NIAGARA – The controversial Bri Estates development will be the subject of a public hearing before the Town Board next month.
The hearing is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Sept. 18 in Town Hall.
The proposal calls for the construction of 115 homes behind the neighborhoods on Colonial Drive and Miller Road. The subdivision, which has been on the drawing board for more than two years, was approved in July by the town Planning Board.
Corey Auerbach, the special counsel hired by the town for advice on the proposal, said board members would have 45 days to make a recommendation from the date the hearing closes.
Residents of the area are concerned that the development would put a strain on existing water and sewer service in the area, increase traffic and lower the quality of life in the rural neighborhood.
