North Tonawanda, Town of Tonawanda hire new parks and recreation chiefs

The City of North Tonawanda and the Town of Tonawanda recently appointed new officials to run their Youth, Parks and Recreation departments.

The North Tonawanda Common Council last week promoted Alex Domaradzki to director of the department, replacing the retired Patty Brosius. Domaradzki joined the department as a part-time playground attendant in 2002. He most recently served as the Youth Center supervisor.

His appointment is provisional because Domaradzki has to finish in the top three on a civil service exam offered at the end of September. He earns about $79,000 annually.

Mark Campanella Sr. in June replaced Jeff Ehlers, who retired as director of the town department. Campanella, whose title is superintendent, has a background in business and marketing. He served for a decade as vice president of marketing and franchise development for Just Pizza. He earns $85,000 annually.
