A 2-year-old girl who was in a vehicle when it was stolen in Buffalo was found safe overnight, asleep in the car where the thief left it in a parking lot near Main Street and East Utice.
Buffalo police announced Wednesday on its Facebook page that the child was safe and that the stolen vehicle had been recovered.
Police had asked for assistance in finding a 2006 Pontiac G6 that had been stolen from an address on Chester Street just before 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The 2-year-old, Keiliani Overton, was in the back seat of the car, which was left with its engine running. The car was stolen, leading to an extensive search by officers, which concluded when it was found at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, the little girl asleep inside, in a parking lot near Main Street and East Utica Street.
The suspect is is still being sought. Buffalo Police request that anyone with further information contact them at 851-4444.
