A Broadway-Fillmore man told police he was robbed with his own sword Saturday afternoon after he let a woman he did not know into his house to use his bathroom.
The resident left the weapon in plain sight, police said.
The incident happened about 1 p.m. at a home on Gibson Street, off Broadway, after a woman was welcomed inside to use the bathroom. On her way out, the resident told police, the woman picked up a sword near the door and threatened to hurt him if he didn't hand over his wallet.
She then shoved the victim to the ground and made off with his wallet containing cash, a driver's license, bank card, Social Security card and other items. She dropped the sword before running off.
