It will be a dark and Stormy-less night in the Town of Tonawanda Friday.
A day before porn actress and director Stormy Daniels was to appear at NY Showgirls, her attorney, Michael Avenatti, called the adult entertainment club's owner, Dave Scrivani, to say that she had to cancel because of security concerns.
Daniels canceled all four of her appearances at the Town of Tonawanda club, formerly known as Scores.
Scrivani said Avenatti told him that she was also canceling her scheduled performance tonight at the Lace Gentlemen's Club in Wayne, N.J.
"We were forced to cancel her appearance due to a security issue," Avenatti said in a phone call to the North Jersey Record, the paper reported on its website. "I’m not at liberty to get into the details about this. It’s regrettable. But we had to do this, and she will make it up to her fans," the Record said Avenatti told them.
"She cancelled (an appearance at) another club tonight in New Jersey for the same reasons. They said they were originally coming on a tour bus but switched to an airplane," Scrivani said.
Scrivani said the shows will be rescheduled. However, anyone who bought tickets ahead of time can get a refund.
"We're giving everybody refunds or they can hand in their ticket for the new date once we get it," he said.
Scrivani said he was disappointed by the sudden cancellation. "You know how many Buffalo people wanted to see this gal?" he said he told Avenatti when they spoke.
Avenatti "guaranteed us new dates coming up shortly, that she would make it up. But he wouldn't elaborate on why she wasn't coming (Friday), just security concerns," Scrivani said.
He said he assured Avenatti that the club at which Daniels was scheduled to appear was prepared with plenty of its own security.
"We had quite a few of our guys and quite a few off-duty policemen that we knew were going to be there. So it wasn't about us," Scrivani said.
The porn actress who says she had sex with President Trump and was paid $130,000 to keep that quiet by Trump's now-former attorney, Michael Cohen, was scheduled to perform four shows at 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday at the club on Sawyer Avenue in the town.
The Town of Tonawanda Police issued a news release Thursday, released by Lt. Thomas Haynes of the police department, in anticipation of Stormy Daniels' appearances: "All: Regarding the performance of Stormy Daniels at Scores night club on August 10 and 11th. The [Town] of Tonawanda Police Department is aware that she will be performing at this venue, and we are prepared to answer any calls for police service in an effective and professional manner."
Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, has been appearing in clubs across the nation this year following revelations about her alleged affair with the president.
