Sabres open ticket sales for annual Prospects Challenge

The regular season schedule is out, beginning Oct. 4 against Boston. The preseason begins Sept. 17 in Columbus. And now the Sabres have unveiled the first "games" for Rasmus Dahlin and their prospects, as tickets have gone on sale for the club's fourth annual Prospects Challenge Sept. 7-10 in HarborCenter.

The Sabres will be joined by the Pittsburgh Penguins, Boston Bruins and New Jersey Devils in the round-robin event featuring the young stars from each team. Each club will play three games.

The Sabres open play at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 7 against New Jersey. They meet Boston at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8 and close the event in a 12:30 matinee on Monday, Sept. 10 against Pittsburgh.

  • Sept. 7: Pittsburgh vs. Boston, 3;30: Buffalo vs. New Jersey, 7.
  • Sept. 8: New Jersey vs. Pittsburgh, 3:30; Buffalo vs. Boston, 7.
  • Sept. 9: Off day.
  • Sept. 10: Boston vs. New Jersey, 9:30 a.m.; Buffalo vs. Pittsburgh, 12:30.


The Sabres again will take part in the Buffalo Firefighters annual Fill the Boot program Thursday. Proceeds will benefit the Spinal Muscular Atrophy Research Team (SMART). Donations will be collected on corners throughout the city from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.,  with Sabres representatives joining at 7:30 a.m. SMART aims to raise awareness and money for research to help treat SMA and other neuromuscular diseases.
