ON POINT – The annual Pencils 4 Schools program will bring teachers, school principals and other educators to a tent at the William Mattar law offices at 6720 Main St., Amherst, to pick up free pencils for the coming school year from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday. Paula’s Donuts will provide free doughnut holes for those stopping by.
Quantities are limited and registration is required. Visit williammattar.com, go to the Community tab and find “Pencils 4 Schools” under the Program and Campaigns section. In two years, the program already has distributed more than 1 million pencils.

INSIDE LOOK – Explore Buffalo’s next Spotlight Tour at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. Tuesday will take visitors inside Canisius High School, 1180 Delaware Ave. Heart of the campus is a mansion built for George Rand, president of Marine Midland Bank a century ago. REUNION SEASON – Starpoint Central School will hold its eighth annual All Inclusive Reunion from 11 a.m. to dusk Aug. 11 in Pendleton Town Park, 6570 Campbell Blvd., Pendleton. There is no cost. Alumni are invited to bring their own food and beverages. Reid’s II snack bar also will be selling a variety of items.
There will be a tour of the school at noon and music from the band Nite Cruise from 3 to 7 p.m. All are asked to bring school supplies for donation. Photos, mementos and yearbooks are welcome. The Lafayette High School Alumni Association will sponsor a free All-Class Reunion Picnic from noon to 8 p.m. Aug. 19 in Tonawanda Firemen’s Park, 318 Two Mile Creek Road, Town of Tonawanda. A joint reunion of all West Seneca Central High School classes from 1945 to 1967 will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Aug. 22 in Joseph’s Country Manor and Grove, 275 Columbia Ave., Depew.
Food will be served from 1 to 4 p.m. Beverages, including beer and wine, will be served all day. There will be games, drawings and three hours of music.
