FETZER, Annamae "Mae" (Driscoll)

FETZER - Annamae "Mae" (nee Driscoll)
Passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 in Dade City, Florida. Born on May 7, 1933 in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late Timothy and Isabel Driscoll. She was a 1951 graduate of Bishop Quigley High School in Buffalo. She went on to study Nursing at the Mercy School of Nursing. Mae led a life of service. She loved to be active and helping others. Upon graduating from Mercy, she joined the Navy as a Nurse at the grade of Lieutenant JG. It was in the Navy she met LCDR Kenneth Fetzer of North Tonawanda. They quickly fell in love and married on July 4, 1961. From that day on, Mae's Independence Day celebrations became a fun tradition for family and friends. After the Navy, Mae joined Mercy Hospital and later Kenmore Mercy Hospital. There she served in roles from Floor Nurse to Administrative Supervisor. In her retirement, Mae continued to serve others, volunteering daily at Daystar Hope Center in Dade City, Florida. Mae loved her family, her faith, her country and a Manhattan with a friend on the porch at the end of the day. Mae was predeceased by her husband Ken, her brother John (Jack) Driscoll and her sister Mary Patricia (Pat) (Driscoll) Rogers. She is survived by her sister, Isabel Wirth; her daughter Mary Pat Cotter (Chris); her sons David (Laurie) and Don (Jeanette) Fetzer; her grandsons Patrick (Allie), Daniel and Michael Fetzer; her granddaughters, Kathryn and Kendall Fetzer and her extended family and friends near and far who will miss her greatly. A memorial service will be conducted at 9:30 AM, Saturday, August 18, 2018, at Our Lady of Charity Parish, Holy Family Site, 1901 South Park Ave., Buffalo, NY 14220.
