Canadian dad arrested at Peace Bridge in attempted abduction

A Canadian man was arrested Friday for attempting parental abduction at the Peace Bridge port of entry in Buffalo, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials said.

Customs and Border Protection officers refused the admission of a man traveling with two minor Canadian children after one of the children became "visibly upset," officials said.

After the family was taken into secondary inspection, the officers confirmed that the man had taken the children from a sports camp in Toronto without the custodial parent's knowledge or permission to leave the country.

The children have been reunited with their mother, and the father was arrested by the Toronto Police Department, officials said.
