If you signed up for a free Instacart Express membership when the company first came to town last year, your card is about to be charged $149 for a new membership starting Aug. 1.
The free year trial offered last August expires at the end of July, but automatically renews upon expiration.
If you don't want to be charged for an automatic renewal, you should cancel your membership before then. You will still be able to use your membership through July 31.
To cancel, log into Instacart.com, click "Accounts" and then "your account" and scroll down to "end membership."
When Instacart began offering service in the Buffalo Niagara market last August, it offered a special promotion giving away free annual Express memberships, which regularly cost $149. Instacart Express members get unlimited deliveries, free of the usual $5.99 per order delivery fee on orders of $35 or more.
