Negotiators for Mount St. Mary's Hospital and the union representing 413 of its employees reached a tentative contract agreement Friday morning.
Spokesmen for Catholic Health and Local 1199 of the Service Employees International Union announced the deal, which was reached at about 11 a.m., following 18 hours of bargaining over two days.
The bargaining followed a strike authorization vote Wednesday, approved by 95 percent of the union members who voted. However, the 10-day strike warning notice never was issued.
The contract runs until March 2022, but the sides said terms would not be disclosed until union members hold a ratification vote in the next few days.
The union represents nurses and nurses' aides as well as laboratory, technical, dietary and environmental staffers at the hospital. The last union contract expired Oct. 31.
