A Genesee County woman was airlifted to Erie County Medical Center where she was treated for serious injuries Thursday following a collision between a tractor trailer and a passenger vehicle, according to the Genesee County Sheriff's Office.
Megan King, of Oakfield, was traveling west at about 9:40 p.m. on Route 5 in Pembroke when the vehicle she was driving and a westbound tractor trailer operated by a Buffalo resident collided, the Sheriff's Office said.
An initial investigation indicated a collision occurred just over the center line in the eastbound lane, the Sheriff's Office said.
The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured, the Sheriff's Office said.
King was extricated from the vehicle she was driving. She was transported by Mercy Flight to ECMC, where she was treated for serious injuries, the Sheriff's Office said.
The cause of the incident remained under investigation Friday.
