The last weekend in July is always reserved for Garden Walk Buffalo; hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 28-29. The free two-day event, now in its 24th year, is self-guided and includes more than 360 gardens. No tickets are required.
Free maps can be downloaded online. Maps and merchandise can be found at two main headquarters during the hours of the walk: Evergreen Health, 206 S. Elmwood Ave., and Buffalo Seminary, 205 Bidwell Parkway.
In addition, there will be three satellite locations where you can pick up maps only: Richmond-Summer Senior Center, Richmond Avenue and Summer Street; First Presbyterian Church, 1 Symphony Circle; and West Side Community Services, 161 Vermont St.
There are five free hop-on/hop-off shuttles stopping at bus stops and headquarters locations. The shuttle route is on the Garden Walk Buffalo map. Docents from Explore Buffalo are scheduled to be on board to highlight architectural and historical sites along the route.
Parking is on the street – or in public lots marked on the Garden Walk map. For wheelchair/stroller accessibility, look at the map for gardens with a wheelchair symbol.
