A Buffalo arsonist who set fire to his own home, resulting in damage to neighboring homes, has been sentenced to eight years in prison.
Joseph Aronica, 35, had pleaded guilty to three counts of arson after setting a fire on the second floor of his home at 218 East Delavan Ave. in November. The fire spread to two neighboring houses and left five adults and two children homeless.
The sentence in State Supreme Court, announced by the District Attorney's Office Friday, also includes five years' probation.
In November 2016, Aronica was previously charged with second-degree arson after a fire caused $1,500 damage at 418 Goodyear Ave., police said at the time.
