LEISNER, Richard F.

LEISNER - Richard F. Of Rochester, formerly of Gowanda NY, passed away July 23 at age 86. Predeceased by parents, Louis and Juliette (Willax), siblings Bernice (Richard) Geitner, Ruth Murphy, and Robert (Emily). He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Roberta "Bobbie" (Howard); children James (Mary), Cheryl (Jim Alesi) and Richard Leisner, all of Rochester; grandchildren Monica (Kevin) Medeiros, Claire and Daniel Leisner, all of Boston, MA; and seven nieces and nephews. His wisdom, guidance, kindness, and sense of humor will be missed. Richard was assistant scout master for Boy Scout Troup #41 before serving in the US Army. He was a lifelong supporter of the Boy Scouts, and extremely proud to be an Eagle Scout, father of an Eagle Scout, and grandfather of an Eagle Scout. Richard was a 1951 graduate of the National Institute of Cleaning and Dyeing. For 40 years, he owned and operated Leisner's Cleaners and Clothiers. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, the Holy Name Society, American Legion Post #409, Lions Club, and served on the Town of Persia Assessment Review Board for over 30 years. Richard enjoyed the stock market, traveling, theatre, skiing, hunting and a good Manhattan. An avid Buffalo Bills fan, he was a season ticket holder for 44 years. Richard's family thanks the devoted nurses and aides at Rochester General Hospital and the Leo Center for Caring who supported and comforted him during his last weeks. In lieu of flowers, consider donating to the St. Joseph's Church Elevator Fund, which will enable the elderly and disabled to participate in activities in the church basement. Calling hours 10:30 - 11 AM, Saturday, July 28 at St. Joseph's Church, 26 Erie Avenue, Gowanda, NY, 14070. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Mentley Funeral Home, Inc., 105 East Main St., Gowanda, NY.
