ECMC's patient total rises 3.2 percent in first half of year

Erie County Medical Center reported a 3.2 percent increase in the number of patients through the first six months of the year.

The total number of patients was 202,536 through June, compared to 196,202 during the same period in 2017, according to ECMC.

ECMC reported a 4.5 percent increase in inpatients, a 5.6 percent increase in surgeries, a 1.6 percent in emergency department visits, and a 3.4 percent increase in outpatient visits. ECMC has received 4,027 patient transfers through June, up 26 percent from a year ago.
