Engineering and design firm Wendel Cos. has opened a new office in Connecticut.
The Amherst-based construction and energy services company is now operating from a new location in Meriden, between Hartford and New Haven. The expansion came as the firm's business in Connecticut has expanded, so it needed a centrally located office, officials said.
Wendel is currently engaged in 10 large projects, including the Waterbury Bus Maintenance Facility and the Greater Bridgeport Transit Authority Maintenance Facility. It also has multi-year energy conservation improvement contracts with Yale University and University of Connecticut.
“We are closer to our clients, allowing us to better serve their needs,” said Stewart Haney, Wendel's president and CEO. "Our newest office supports our continued growth and expansion throughout the state and beyond."
