Instant replay is coming to postseason high school boy's ice hockey.
When available, replay can be used to determine goal or no-goal rulings, see if an official missed a goal and for issues with the game clock, according to a proposal approved Tuesday by the Central Committee of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association.
The replay rules can begin in the sectional tournament and continue through the state tournament if the venue has the replay technology available. The state semifinals and finals are at HarborCenter, which has the replay capabilities.
The committee also voted to expand the state bowling tournament to three days from two. The 2019 championships are March 8-10 at the AMF Strike 'N Spare in Syracuse.
The 2019 softball championships were moved back a week to Saturday, June 15.
