A travel advisory was issued Tuesday evening for the Village of Fredonia as northern Chautauqua County was hit by a narrow band of heavy downpours.
Police Chief Bradley C. Meyers declared that there should be no unnecessary travel in the village until 10 p.m. He noted that the National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for the area through 10 p.m.
The NWS issued a second flash flood warning for southern Chautauqua County through 11:45 p.m. Forecasters said that up to 2 inches of rain could fall in the affected areas.
