VINTAGE VEHICLES – Classic cars will converge from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Williamsville Lehigh Valley Depot, 86 S. Long St., Williamville for the annual Antique Car Cruise Night. Admission is free. Depot hot dogs and other refreshments will be for sale. Proceeds benefit improvements to the depot and its museum.

HIGH HONORS – Five new names will be added to the Niagara Falls Volunteer Hall of Fame at an induction ceremony at 5:30 p.m. today in the Carnegie Building, 1022 Main St., Niagara Falls. Plaques bearing their likenesses will be displayed inside City Hall.
They include Marge Gilles, active in beautification and historic preservation; Bill Bradberry, chairman of the Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Area Commission; Matthew and Yvonne Davis, who host three “Lord’s Day Dinners” for the needy each year, and the late Josi Fera, active in community events for 50 years.

LOCAL HERO – “William Barker Cushing – America’s First Navy Seal?” is the title of a presentation by Pomfret Town Historian Todd Longworthy at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Lucy Bensley Center, 23 N. Buffalo St., Springville.
Cushing, who hailed from Fredonia and led the raid that sank a Confederate ironclad ship in 1864, was the subject of a recent History Channel documentary, “The Most Daring Mission of the Civil War.” The public is invited. For more info, call Tom Place at 957-2740.

TEE IT UP – The annual Cardinal O’Hara High School Alumni and Friends Golf Tournament takes place Thursday at Rothland Golf Course, 12089 Clarence Center Road, Akron. Registration begins at 9 a.m., with a shotgun start at 10. The $100 registration fee includes lunch at the turn, dinner after the tournament and prizes.
