Body found in North Buffalo ruled a homicide; police searching for vehicle

The death of a man whose body was found Monday morning in a North Buffalo apartment has been ruled a homicide, Buffalo police said Tuesday.

The man has been identified as Carl Davis, 71, police said.

An autopsy by the Erie County Medical Examiner's Office determined Davis died of blunt force injury, police said at a news conference.

The man's body was found shortly after 11 a.m. Monday on the first block of Holling Drive, between Delaware and Virgil avenues.

Police said they are looking for Davis' gray 2008 Saab 9-7X with license plates ETW4142, which is believed to have been stolen. The vehicle was last seen Sunday, according to police.

Police ask anyone with information to call Buffalo Police homicide detectives at 716-851-4466 or to call or text the confidential police tip line at 716-847-2255.
