The off-duty Buffalo police officer and another man shot early Sunday morning have been released from Erie County Medical Center, Buffalo police said Monday.
The officer, identified as Christopher Bridgett, 29, and the second victim, identified as Darnell Davis, 28, were leaving the Groove Lounge on Broadway shortly before 3:30 a.m. when two men approached their vehicle and began shooting.
Bridgett became a Buffalo police officer in 2016.
Buffalo police declined to discuss a possible motive for the shooting.
Adrian Lias, 41, of Buffalo, and Reginald Hokes, 40, of Charlotte, N.C., were arrested after police stopped a vehicle on the 300 block of Jefferson Avenue. A .45-caliber pistol was found beneath the driver's seat. Lias was charged with two counts of first-degree assault, reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon.
