A robber hid in the stock room of a Family Dollar for almost two hours Sunday night before robbing the store at gunpoint as employees were closing for the night, according to a Niagara Falls police report.
The robber emerged from the stock room of the store at Hyde Park Boulevard and Ontario Avenue just after 10 p.m. and dragged an employee by the shirt to the front of the store while holding a gun to her head, according to the report.
The robber took cash from the safe and cash register and ran out of the store. Store security video showed the suspect entered the store at about 8:15 p.m. and went into the stock room. During the robbery, the suspect wore a black ski mask, black gloves, a black hooded jacket and jeans, according to the report.
Police found a vehicle matching the description of a possible getaway vehicle unoccupied in the 500 block of an alleyway between 23rd and 24th streets.
