A Buffalo man and woman are facing drug and weapons charges following a traffic stop late Sunday by New York State Police.
Troopers said they stopped the vehicle for a traffic violation about 11:30 p.m. on Interstate 190 in Buffalo. Juan R. Matos Santana, 25, and passenger Yomarie Quinones Rodriguez, 22, possessed a loaded .22 caliber handgun, troopers said. Police also found about 2 grams of marijuana.
Matos Santana had an .08 percent blood alcohol content, according to state police.
Both were each charged with second- and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, state police said. Quinones Rodriguez was additionally charged with criminal possession of marijuana, and Matos Santana with operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of between .08 percent and 1 percent alcohol or more.
