St. Bonaventure men's basketball to host six nonconference games

The St. Bonaventure University men's basketball team will host six nonconference games this season, the team announced in a press release.

The Bonnies will open their season with a home game against Bucknell Nov. 7 and will then host Jackson State three days later on Nov. 10. This is the second year in a row Jackson State will travel to St. Bonaventure, with the Bonnies coming out on top 72-58 last year.

St. Bonaventure will host Big 4 rivals Canisius on Nov. 28 and Buffalo on Dec. 8. This will be the 167th time the Bonnies have played the Griffs; the Bonnies have won four of the last five meetings. The Bonnies have also won the last four meetings with the Bulls, but three of those came by single-digit margins.

The Bonnies will also host Delaware State on Dec. 1 and Siena on Dec. 6.

St. Bonaventure will return just two starters from last year's 26-8 team that made the NCAA tournament. Coach Mark Schmidt will head the team for the 12th season.
