Dance party will support African-American Veterans Monument

An old-fashioned Buffalo Boogie and Dance Party will be held Aug. 13 to raise funds for the African-American Veterans Monument at the Buffalo & Erie County Naval & Military Park.

The party, from 6 to 9 p.m., will be held in Buffalo Central Terminal, 495 Paderewski Drive. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the door or online.

Music will be provided by DJ EZ Ed, vocalists Joyce Wilson Nixon and Melissa Kate, Marsha McWilson, E-Life 7, with Buffalo Music Hall of Fame inductees Ron Walker and Mike Pennick, and Taylor Made International with Buffalo Music Hall of Fame inductees Joey Diggs and Van Taylor.

Proceeds will support the African-American Veterans Monument – the first in the United States. It will honor all African-American veterans dating back to the Revolutionary War and join other monuments at the park.
