University at Buffalo football now has seven players on major award watchlists after a pair earned the prestigious honor on Friday.
Senior James O’Hagan is on the watchlist for the Rimington, awarded to the nation’s top center, while senior Tyler Mabry is on the watch list for the Mackey, awarded to the nation’s top tight end.
O'Hagan, a two-time third-team All-MAC selection, has started every game for the Bulls in his three-year career. Mabry led UB tight ends last season with 24 receptions for 242 yards and a touchdown.
O'Hagan is one of six Mid-American Conference players on the 58-man Rimington list. He’s joined by Andrew Poenitsch (Ball State), Dakota Tallman (Eastern Michigan), Danny Godlevske (Miami), Luke Shively (Northern Illinois) and John Keenoy (Western Michigan).
Mabry is one of four MAC players on the 64-man Mackey list. He’s joined by Nate Becker (Miami), Nolan Givan (Ball State) and Giovanni Ricci (Western Michigan).
