DOG DAY – Food trucks, a high-end raffle and music by Bflo Lydia are on tap as Buffalo Pug and Small Breed Dog Rescue hosts its annual Chugs for Pugs from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday in the Flying Bison Brewing Co., 840 Seneca St. Well-behaved dogs are welcome on leash. All proceeds benefit the rescue service, which helps dogs of all sizes, many of which come from puppy mills.

IN BLOOM – A butterfly release, musical entertainment, a clown and hanging basket giveaways will be featured in the fifth annual Garden Walk from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday in Garden Gate Health Care Facility, 2365 Union Road, Cheektowaga. There will be hundreds of flower displays and theme areas. Admission is free.

LICKIN’ GOOD – The Anerald Boat Club, 137 Young St., City of Tonawanda, will offer a Chiavetta’s chicken barbecue from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday. Dinners are $10, eat-in or take-out.

The Lancaster Public Library, 5466 Broadway, will host a Krolick’s chicken barbecue from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday during the Lancaster Garden Walk. Dinners are $11, take-out only.

The Shelton Fire Company will hold its annual picnic and chicken barbecue with homemade pie beginning at noon Sunday at St. John Newman Church, St. Cecilia Site, Centerline and North Sheldon roads, Sheldon. There also will be children’s activities, a beer tent, a basket raffle and a free dance from 7 to 11 p.m. with music by Crossfire.
