Veterans and their families will now have access to on-site legal services at the Veterans One-Stop Center of WNY.
The Veterans One-stop Center announced they have partnered with Neighborhood Legal Services and the Legal Aid Bureau of Buffalo to provide civil legal services for issues such as bankruptcies and housing discrimination cases.
Chuck Marra, president and chief executive officer of the Veterans One-stop Center, said he thinks the new service will help promote self-sufficiency, stability and financial security for veterans through easily accessible legal services.
The center, located at 1280 Main St., has served more than 10,000 veterans since it was created in 2013. It also provides financial counseling, women and family services and education resources.
Lauren Breen, executive director for Neighborhood Legal Services, said she believes legal assistance will help low-income veterans and their families face basic human rights challenges.
