WALKER, Gregory D.

WALKER, Gregory D.

WALKER - Gregory D. Of Port Charlotte, FL, passed away on the evening of July 10, 2018 at age 75. Born August 1, 1962, he was the son of Edgar and Faye Walker, of Buffalo, NY; and was the loving brother of George D. Walker. A High School graduate of Sweet Home High School (Class of 1960), Greg joined the Army and served in Germany and France between 1963 and 1965, and served in the US Army Reserves for a full 20 years. Greg enjoyed two careers working at Westinghouse Corp. in Cheektowaga, NY, and then joined the New York State Corrections Department, serving mostly at the Attica Correctional Facility until retirement. Greg enjoyed all life would offer and could regale you with many stories and euphemisms. Greg will be greatly missed by his cousins, nieces, nephews, and stepchildren. He also spoke glowingly of friends he walked with throughout his life, including his Army days, Westinghouse, his years in the Corrections Department and in retirement. Greg was especially fond of seeing old friends at high school reunions when he could make the trip up from Florida. The service in Celebration of Greg's Life will be scheduled later this year in Buffalo, NY, as most of his family and friends still reside there. Memorial donations may be made to the SPCA as Greg was a lover of all animals and dedicated a portion of his earnings and estate to that fine organization.
