Louie's Foot-Long on Niagara wants to add outdoor seating

The owner of Louie's Foot-Long Hot Dogs on Niagara Street wants to add some seasonal outdoor seating as she seeks to expand her business.

Elaine Baker has applied to the Buffalo Common Council for a special-use permit to allow her to put an outdoor patio with three picnic tables on the city sidewalk in front of her eatery at 1893 Niagara. The area would be roped off, but would come down after the summer season ends.

The restaurant, which is located where George's American Diner used to operate, is open from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from noon to 8 p.m. on Sundays. Baker said she is considering expanding the morning hours to add breakfast.
