Bicyclist injured in apparently intentional hit-and-run on West Side

A 42-year-old Buffalo woman was injured when a vehicle apparently intentionally struck the bicycle she was riding Tuesday evening on the West Side, Buffalo police said.

According to officers from the Central District, it appeared the bicyclist was intentionally struck by a vehicle at about 7:20 p.m. Tuesday at Massachusetts and Normal avenues.

After striking the bicyclist, the driver and a passenger got out of the vehicle and physically assaulted the woman before fleeing the scene in the vehicle, Buffalo police said.

The woman was taken to Erie County Medical Center for treatment of multiple injuries and was released from the hospital Wednesday. Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call Buffalo police.
