OP native Hollins assigned to Batavia in NY-P

Orchard Park native Bubba Hollins was assigned to the Batavia Muckdogs of the Class-A Short Season New York-Penn League by the Miami Marlins.
Hollins, whose father, Dave, was a 12-year MLB veteran, played at Orchard Park High and St. Bonaventure.
Originally drafted out of high school by he Detroit Tigers in 2014, Hollins went on to college instead of junior college and then to Bona. Miami signed him as a free agent in 2017.
Hollins, an infielder, batted .214 in 12 games for Batavia in 2017. He started 2018 with Miami's Class A-Advanced affilliate, the Jupiter Hammerheads. He batted . 167 with a double and home run in 21 games in the Florida State League before he was assigned to Batavia.
