Stampede, an Amherst audio visual and information technology service provider, has been acquired by an Irish company.
Stampede, which has 80 employees at its headquarters at 55 Woodridge Drive and 210 employees company-wide, was purchased by the technology division of Dublin-based DCC Plc. DCC Plc. has 2,700 employees.
Stampede plans to remain in its Amherst headquarters. "For Buffalo, this means a positive influence on employment opportunities," said Kevin Kelly, Stampede's president and CEO.
Mark Wilkins, Stampede's founder and CEO, retired after the deal closed.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed. DCC said it would allow the company to establish a presence in the North American market.
