WREGE - Luella "Elly"
(nee Kuske)
Passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 12, 2018, at the age of 85 years. She was born in Dodge Center, Minnesota, on May 26, 1933, the daughter of Gustav and Agnes (Fritze) Kuske. Elly graduated from Dodge Center High School and then attended Concordia Teachers' College in Chicago. In 1954, she was called to North Tonawanda, New York, to teach at St. Mark's Lutheran School. Elly taught 3rd and 4th grade for four years, and in 1956 she was united in marriage with William. F. Wrege Jr. in-Dodge Center, Minnesota. Elly dedicated herself to her husband and raising her four children. She was a very active member of both St. Mark's and St. Matthew's Lutheran churches; singing in the choir, active in the ladies' guild, and making visits and holiday cards for those who could not attend church services. Later in life, she worked on a church committee making holiday cards for those in prison. Elly loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed being outdoors and spent much time gardening with her husband Bill, canning and preserving both fruits and vegetables, and later traveling with Bill to visit with her children in various parts of the country. She is survived by her four children: Kristin B. Sadler (Patrick) of North Tonawanda; Thomas W. Wrege (Keven) of Texas; Nancy J. Armstrong (Chris) of California; and Paul F. Wrege (Mary) of New York. Elly is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Stephanie Sadler (Jorge) of England, Colin Sadler of North Tonawanda (fiance;e Michelle), Sean, Steven and Justin Armstrong of California, Caleb, Coleson and Katie Wrege of Texas, Natalee and Camille Wrege of New York; and one great-grandchild, Emilia Rose Rodriguez-Sadler of England. She is also survived by three sisters: Harriet Doepel of Texas, Ethlyn (Pete) Moeller and Sylvia Wessel of Minnesota, and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Bill; three brothers, Wilmer, Eugene and Don Kuske; and one sister, Dorothy Kohagen. Friends may call at Fretthold Funeral Home, Inc., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda, on Wednesday, July 18"' from 4 to 8 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 10 AM from St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 875 Eggert Dr. in North Tonawanda. Her burial will be in St. Matthew's Cemetery.
