A Niagara Falls woman told police she heard a commotion inside her apartment while she showered Saturday afternoon, emerging to find that someone had broken in and stolen $2,500 worth of property.
The victim told police that she left her brother playing video games inside her Willow Avenue apartment at 4:45 p.m. Saturday while she took a shower.
While she showered, she said, her brother left to go to the store, and in his absence someone had entered the apartment and stolen a pair of video game systems and a large flat-screen television. The burglar also went into the victim's bedroom and moved her television to access a hiding spot where she kept $2,000 in cash. All of the money was stolen, as well.
