Firm with ties to BMHA supervisor gets $391,000 from BMHA, mostly without bidding

Just months after it was founded, GFY General Services & Cleaning got nearly $400,000 in largely no-bid work from the Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority in 2017, according to BMHA records. But a Buffalo News investigation found GFY has a BMHA connection.

Neighbors cry foul over football fields in Orchard Park

Orchard Park's town supervisor sent a letter to residents of Ferndale Drive telling them a football complex with a concession stand and press box, as well as a parking lot would be built behind their homes. Residents are fighting the development, but the supervisor said: "We have the right to develop that property. ... We own it."

Kevin O'Connell is departing Channel 2 after 25 years

Channel 2 weathercaster Kevin O'Connell's 25-year run at WGRZ is over. O'Connell had been in talks recently for a contract extension, but the negotiations are believed to have ended shortly after O'Connell testified in a case for a law firm he had endorsed on the firm's website without using his job title.

O'Reilly in farewell message to Buffalo: 'You even made me a Bills fan!'

In a seven-paragraph message posted to Twitter Friday night, former Sabres center Ryan O'Reilly thanked the Sabres organization and the City of Buffalo for the treatment he received during his three seasons with the team.

Vince Gill, Glenn Frey's son keep Eagles soaring in KeyBank Center show

Thousands of Eagles fans attended the legendary band's Saturday night concert at KeyBank Center. Reviewer Dan Herbeck says any doubts about the band's new lineup were erased 30 seconds into the opening number.
