Melanie Green moved up 18 places on the final day at the Girls' Junior PGA Championship in Lexington, Ky. to finish tied for 41st. The Medina native shot 3-under 69 on the final day of competition to finish with a score of 289.
Green's performance comes a day after her worst round of the tournament, where she shot 4-over 76. The rising sophomore at Medina High School was the Prep Talk Player of the Year in 2017 for women's golf and placed third at the New York State Tournament.
Yeamlimi Noh of Concord, Calif. won the tournament with a score of 264. The senior had led since the second round and finished the final day 3-under 67. Noh finished four strokes ahead of second-place finisher Rose Zhang.
