Work has started on a $16 million project to renovate a residential hall at SUNY Buffalo State.
Crews working in Tower Three are installing new, upgraded bathrooms; adding new heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems; putting in place new laundry rooms, including washers and dryers; repainting the interior and adding new caperting, according to the office of Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo.
The project is part of more than $73 million in capital renovations the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York has begun on SUNY campuses statewide. Construction should be finished by July 2019.
This is the third of four scheduled tower projects the authority plans to complete at Buffalo State, following renovations done to Towers One and Four. State officials say the work will be done to LEED Silver standards for environmental sustainability and energy efficiency.
