Fashion Friday: Meet interior designer Erin Kent

Name: Erin Kent, 48.

Who she is: Interior designer, owner of Erin Kent Interiors, which she launched in 2011. Previously worked at Bassett home furnishings and Schuele Paint Co. Board member of the Interior Design Association of Western New York. Involved in past Buffalo Home Shows and Decorators’ Show Houses. Residents of North Tonawanda, she and her husband, Scott, have two sons ages 17 and 20.

What she’s wearing: Summer white blazer from White House Black Market; black T-shirt from GAP; black jeans; Fossil watch; mixed metal necklace from Stella & Dot; Franco Sarto heeled sandals.

Fashion statement: “My style of dress is the same as in design - classic, with a little ‘edge.’ My go-to color is black. It’s classic, and you can mix it with anything.

“I don’t like anything too fussy. I need to be comfortable and love wearing jeans. You can dress them up or down, depending on the day. Add a blazer, and you have a pulled-together look. Plus I’m always cold, especially in air conditioning.”

Signature pieces: “ ‘Less is more’ is my motto so I usually wear simple hoop earrings and maybe a statement necklace, or bracelet and watch. I love fun, funky shoes.”

Recent purchase: “Shoes, shoes, shoes!”

In the market for: “Probably a sun dress, since it’s been so hot.”
